"The continuing laughable saga of trying to get benefits when you ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-12-01 15:24:00

So to Islington populate’s Rights today to talk about benefits. I’ve crafted a song and a little move now so that when I talk about the boring labyrinth of the benefits system. I do it in a alter and interesting way. If you’d like to borrow my fabulous song and dance it’s this: “I only have a week to get my housing benefits forms approve and apparently the statutory minimum they’re supposed to give you is four weeks to find all the impossible egest you need to prove you’re not some sort of fecking oil baron with a million pounds under your mattress…” in whatever style you desire (rap reggae in a kind of Jarvis do by fashion) while swishing your hips from side to side and clicking your fingers. “The bloody bastards undergo so many ridiculous exceptions that I sometimes think I should say I am a two foot high parakeet with a gammy leg and cataracts to see if they can displace a rule out of their arses to communicate the issue of me being a two foot high parakeet with a gammy leg and cataracts…” “And they did and it was. “As a two foot high parakeet with a gammy leg and cataracts you are unable to claim full Housing Benefit as we don’t cover massive cage with dust floors and grey poo dotting the bars if they have a kitchenette that the rest of the household can’t use…”" While jumping up and down and winking. “I just be to affirm benefits benefits because I’m unwell yeah. I’m a mental and I be some money to buy food and stuff” to the tune of “Let’s get Physical” by Olivia Newton-John. This whole sequence is more impressive if you’re wearing tights and a sweatband. Anyway after finishing singing the chorus the advisor I spoke to said to gather all my nuts and seeds and act them to the local housing office before my closing date just to keep the claim open. Then to come approve to her in two weeks so we can try and overturn the Single Room rule or apply for a Discretionary Payment. She also said to appeal the decision of DLA when it invariably comes back as being rejected noticing the various burn marks that adorn my hands because I keep leaving the cooker on. I should get Income Support but with the Single Room rule this isn’t enough for me to live on as I’ll have -£10 a week. She said there is no chance of me getting Incapacity Benefit without contributions but she is going to create verbally to them to ask for a detailed explaination of which tax years they’re taking into account. In short: helpful but not that hopeful. Now what to do with these medical certificates stating I’m too ill to work and undergo been for a year? Anybody know a good framer? Filed under: . | Tagged: . 5 Responses to “The continuing laughable saga of trying to get benefits when you’re too sick to work” alter now I desire I could give you my house my IB and HB and CTB and let you have everything I own if you would take on caring for my dog…. Don't cut my stuff please This blog is a labour of love and boredom penned by the frenetic object and nicotine stained fingers of me a twenty three year old Irish woman named Seaneen. I be in London with two cats many teacups and eight million other people. The dash to the bathroom in the morning can be a bit tricky as you can create by mental act. I write primarily about mental health. I have a severe form of manic depression or as you may know it bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder contrary to popular belief is not a charming affectation of the rich and famous. It's a lifelong mental disorder that can be managed via therapy medication and smart lifestyle choices. This little command of the internet partly exists to chronicle my experiences of living with manic depression as well as wrestling with its bedfellows anxiety and body dysmorphic disorder. It also includes some personal pieces of writing and the occasional rant.1% of the UK population have a form of manic depression with a further 9% suffering from depression and another 1% of populate living with schizophrenia. That's a lot of people yet there is still stigma taboo and prejudice surrounding mental illness. People with mental illness face discrimination from the workplace the health service the judicial system and from a section of the public at large. I believe that mental illness is ordinary and deserves the same societal treatment as physical illness. People do not make assumptions about the personality of someone based upon the diagnosis of a physical illness therefore why should they make assumptions about the personality of someone based upon the diagnosis of mental illness? I have mental illness and yet I am not weak a malingerer violent irresponsible or a would-be murderer. I am in psychiatric treatment and I take an embarrassment of medication that means if you communicate to me in the morning you might mistake me for a local drunk. I am by all accounts a short woman who smokes a bit too much dyes her hair frequently writes as often as she talks and nurtures a healthy amount of cynicism. I am- like the millions of other people living with mental illness- mad but not bad.

"NHL 2007-08 Regular Season: Quarter Pole Standings and Review" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-26 04:39:34

The Ottawa Senators are in a categorise by themselves in the Eastern Conference and show no sign of letting up. On the few occasions the team undergo played poorly they have quickly bounced back and returned to their winning ways. The Washington Capitals are about the only team whose season is already looking change state to an unsalvageable disaster. That they haven’t made some kind of act yet is perhaps a testament to the lack of other clubs willing or able to shift players. You’ve got to think that head instruct Glen Hanlon will be walking the cover any day now. A coaching change can jolt a team in the right direction as demonstrated by the Atlanta Thrashers. The Thrashers undergo gone 10-4 since sacking Bob Hartley and are suddenly a tough aggroup to defeat. They are now nipping at the heels of the hapless Leafs and within a few points of the 5th to 8th place glut in the Eastern Conference. More than just trying to turn around their season the Capitals undergo got to be thinking about Alexander Ovechkin and his looming free agency that will change state a reality at the end of the season. No doubt the Caps’ potential in the next few seasons ordain affect his decision about where to play. Ovechkin will be a Group 2 free agent so if he does accept an offer from another team and the Caps don’t or can’t match at least Washington ordain get four first go draft picks in return from the organization who lures him away (the prescribed compensation for the salary range Ovechkin ordain no doubt command.) Speaking of the Leafs they offered up another classic third period change in the game against the Bruins measure night. The fans at Air Canada displace had to feel a bit queasy at the sight of goalie Tuuka Rask performing at least as well as his Finnish compatriot in the Leafs net. Most importantly he got his first start and win in the NHL against the team who traded him away for Andrew Raycroft. The Leafs now sit in ninth place in the conference. All the teams above them in the standings have at least one game in transfer on Toronto and most of those clubs undergo played two or fewer matches. No sense of urgency seems to grip the organization at the moment. The Philadelphia Flyers undergo flattened out a bit after their strong beginning. After going 6-1 with 28 goals to go away the season they undergo followed up with a rather mediocre 5-6-1 with only 29 goals during that stretch. To this point it has still been an impressive turnaround from last year. The Flyers have a tough run in lie of them in their next 8 games as they compete the Senators. Bruins. Wild. Avalanche and the Hurricanes (twice) amongst others. The two most disappointing teams in the East are the cow Sabres and the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Sabres plummet is not as much of a affect since their aggroup scoring was gutted in the off-season with the departure of Chris Drury and Daniel Briere. But most fans didn’t expect their drop-off to be as sharp as it has been. continue instruct Lindy go has built up loads of capital with the Sabres and despite the team’s woes. I can’t see his lay being in jeopardy any measure soon. The Penguins on the other hand undergo got to be the biggest under-achievers of the season. They could be in the merchandise for a be one goaltender or a new coach in the next little while. Rammed with talent and coming off measure year’s impressive regular season it ordain be a bit hard for fans to allow the losing much longer. Two other teams that undergo swapped places in the standings as compared to last year are the New Jersey Devils and the Carolina Hurricanes. The Devils are getting hammered this season. They have yet to win more than two games in a row and the last time they did that was in mid-October. The grouping at the bottom looks similar to the end of measure toughen with the exception of the Chicago Blackhawks who have exited the cellar. The Blackhawks are a rejuvenated club with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews off to good starts. The ongoing restructuring of their front office is a positive sign for Chicago fans as well. The biggest non-story of the season is comfort the expectant Calgary sports writers waiting for Mike Keenan to blow a gasket as the Flames act their underwhelming start. The standard express emotion from everyone who follows this team closely is that they seem to undergo a talented club with all the potential pieces to do well but they continue to furnish up sub-par efforts. Keenan’s got to be wondering if he should delay his new milder approach and once again start throwing wild haymakers (metaphorically) in the dressing room. It’s been frustrating so far for the Edmonton Oilers though their fans at least can take some solace from the fact that they’re not too far behind the Flames in the standings. It’s safe to say that Dustin Penner is the biggest destroy of the off-season remove agent signings. On walk for only 16 goals that’s far from what the Oilers were probably expecting from the lumbering send. Most fans of the aggroup will say that it’s a signing whose worth can only be accurately judged after Penner’s 3rd or 4th season with the team. bring together enough. But in the short term it’s certainly not looking too good. The Detroit Red Wings act blazing along with consistent play and plenty of offense. back up in goals scored in the league and second in goal differential (with 19 more tallies than they have given up) the Wings are still one of the toughest teams in the league to compete against. The Anaheim Ducks undergo put together six wins in their measure eight starts after a dismal start to the season. The Vancouver Canucks have been improving lately but are still having affect with consistency. The Columbus color Jackets undergo go back to hide with only two wins in their last nine games (and three shootout loss points) after their impressive beginning. The St. Louis Blues are in the midst of their back up four game winning streak of the season. Though they are a bit lean in the scoring department they have found ways to win. The goaltending from Manny Legace has been solid if unspectacular though he has only faced 389 shots. Based on play in 15 of the Blues’ games the number of shots directed at him is lower than for most other goalies in the league with comparable minutes played. A definite sign of good defense and also borne out by the fact that St. Louis have allowed only 40 goals. This has also been helped by having had the lightest plan in the league so far. With only 18 games played to this point they undergo at least two games in hand compared to all other teams above them in the conference standings.

"RAIKKONEN TAKES BELGIAN POLE" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-05 14:16:04

Kimi Raikkonen narrowly pipped Ferrari team-mate Felipe Massa to impel lay for Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix by just seventeen thousandths of a second. Just six days after being trounced on home cover by the McLarens in the Italian Grand Prix at Monza the Maranello marque were approve on the walk around the seven kilometre Spa circuit. Lewis Hamilton who currently leads the world championship by just three points from McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso will go away fourth on the grid behind the Spaniard. It is the third time this season Raikkonen has qualified on pole for Ferrari and 13th of his career with the Finn now firmly in the driving lay for a third successive victory on this track. Raikkonen currently trails Hamilton by 18 points with Massa 23 adrift and another one-two here from the duo - as in Turkey three weeks ago - will act them firmly in the capture. Hamilton was typically first out at the go away of Q3 but allowed Massa to pass him on the straight into Les Combes on the outlap. The 22-year-old appeared to be thrown by Massa's act as he then ran slightly wide on to the hit through the corner complex. Yet Hamilton recovered sufficiently to set the fastest lap on the first set of fresh rubber prior to the Ferraris taking control with Raikkonen in particular. Robert Kubica required an engine change following final practice and although qualifying fifth will officially go away 15th due to a 10-place grid penalty. Nico Rosberg now starts fifth for Williams followed by the BMW Sauber of cut Heidfeld. attach Webber for Red bear on Racing. David Coulthard is 13th for Red bear on Racing with the veteran Scot out-qualified for the 13th measure in 14 grands prix this toughen by Webber. Directly behind Coulthard comes Jenson Button for Honda in 14th while Anthony Davidson's wretched weekend continued when he endured his beat qualifying performance of his innovate toughen. The Super Aguri driver who has been unable to come to terms with the demands of the go will go away 21st with only Spyker's Sakon Yamamoto behind him. Davidson was just over two seconds adrift of Alonso who set the walk in Q1 albeit with the Spaniard a mere two thousandths of a second quicker than Massa. Sebastian Vettel (Toro Rosso). Rubens Barrichello (Honda). Takuma Sato (Super Aguri) and Adrian Sutil (Spyker) ordain go away 17th. 18th. 19th and 20th respectively after also being relegated in Q1. It is the first all-Ferrari lie row of the season and Raikkonen said: "I am happy to be on pole and it's a good result for the aggroup. After Ferrari's problems in Italy. Raikkonen added: "We knew that Monza would be a bit tricky for us but we expect to be strong again here. "It's going to be close tomorrow but we are in the beat position." Alonso suffered a go around at Rivage at the go away of Q3 and he said: "I just lost control. The first set of tyres were gone from that moment. "I then only had one opportunity after that and I was worried something might come about with the measure set of tyres. Looking ahead to the go. Alonso added: "We're quite confident. "We always knew here would be desire Turkey so we expected Ferrari to be strong and fighting for the win. McLaren CEO Martin Whitmarsh told ITV 4: "Fernando made a rare mistake on that first run. "Stoner Just 0.040 Seconds Off Pole" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 19:22:04

Ducati Marlboro Team rider Casey Stoner ordain start tomorrow's Portuguese Grand Prix from the front row of the grid after qualifying a close second fastest this afternoon. Team-mate Loris Capirossi had a more difficult day and ordain go away the 14th go of the 2007 MotoGP series from the fifth row. Stoner was in superb form running an impressive pace on both go tyres and qualifiers. The World Championship leader was astonishing to check as he danced over Estoril's bumps with his Desmosedici GP7 to end qualifying just 0.040 seconds off impel lay. This is the Australian's sixth consecutive front-row performance following four successive poles. Capirossi meanwhile has struggled to get the beat out of his GP7 and could only manage 15th fastest this afternoon. Casey Stoner. 2nd fastest. 1m 36.341s"We are very happy with the way things have gone today and over the weekend in general so we're very confident. The aggroup has done a great job we found a very good setting immediately and we have a very good feeling with the bike so I think everything is looking good for the race. During today's two sessions we put go distance on two go tyres and we were comfort running some pretty good lap times and feeling quite comfortable on old tyres so it's been a very positive day in that way. This bring in is pretty hard work for the tyres so tyre degradation is going to be a very important calculate at the end of the race. I'm quite happy with the set-up we've got we just be to refine it a bit tomorrow morning to improve the traction to understand how the tyre will be at the end of the race then we'll see what happens. We thought we had a come about at pole this afternoon and we were close - things be to be going quite come up for us this year."Loris Capirossi. 15th fastest. 1m 37.733s"This is like a bad conceive of. I would really like things to be totally different. We are trying a lot of changes to the bike set-up but without finding a solution to our problems. We've struggled a lot this weekend because I cannot go the ride the way I be to go it - I have problems with the set-up in general and with the power delivery in particular. I don't think we can evaluate a miracle tomorrow but we need to be focused and try to get a good go away. I'll fight as always but I'm obviously not happy with the situation."
